Obituary
William Wayne Sink, 68 of Des Moines went home to his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 10, 2014. Visitation will be held at Coburn Funeral Home, 24 West Howard Street in Colfax, on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 6-7 p.m. Funeral services will begin at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Wayne will be cremated following his service and burial will be at a later date.
Wayne was born to Everett Bill and Norma (Bolton) Sink in Ottawa, Kansas on January 21, 1946. After high school he attended Faith Baptist College in Ankeny, Iowa. Wayne worked as a correctional officer at Lansing Corrections in Lansing Kansas and retired due to health reasons. He also worked as a CNA at the Rolling Hills Assisted Living in Topeka, Kansas. He married Linda Fink on March 23, 1994 and together the couple resided in Des Moines. He enjoyed attending Grandview Baptist Church when his health allowed, spending time with his family, watching Kansas University Basketball, reading his bible, reading, fishing, genealogy even though he never found a rich uncle, and spending time with his dachshund family.
Those left to cherish Waynes memory are his wife Linda Sink of Des Moines, IA, daughters, Lisa Stevens of Des Moines, IA, Melissa (Nick) Bishop or Auburn, KS, Melinda (Bob) Williams of Gardner, KS, and Angie Sink; sons, Robert (Teresa) Sink of Colfax, IA, Peter Sink of Orlando, FL, Dan (Christina) Sink of Kansas City, KS, John Sink of Topeka, KS, and Stephen Sink of Topeka, KS; step-sons, Bill Main of Topeka, KS, Randy (Debbie) Main of Topeka, KS; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, beloved dogs Riley, Rickey, Sadie, Sam, and Abby. The family would like especially thanks Kim Collins for her support and assistance, your kindness is greatly appreciated.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents Bill Sink and Norma Jacobs, 2 sisters, Gloria Evens and Sharon Hoxworth, brother, Larry Dean, step-son James Main, mother-in-law Jayne Compton.
