Obituary
Kauffman, Gregory Greg S. (Guffey) was born October 22, 1963 in Centerville, Ia, the son of William Lewis Jr. and Loretta Faye Guffey.
He graduated from Ottumwa High School, Ottumwa Ia, with the class of 1982. Following school he joined the Army and worked as a light wheel mechanic. He discharged honorably.
Greg loved to work and he explored many types of production and foundry positions. He was most recently employed by Fairfield Castings LLC as a grinder. Greg was excellent with his hands and excelled in fixing engines and working with wood. He was often a helping hand to family, friends, neighbors, and strangers. Greg enjoyed cartoons and motor sports. He loved spending time with family and especially enjoyed playing with his grandchildren. Greg was a blessing to all those that had an opportunity to meet him.
Gregory S. Kauffman passed into peace on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center at the age of 51 with family members by his side. He courageously battled an adenocarcinoma that had metastasized.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Robin Kauffman; sons Gregory (April) Guffey, Justin Kauffman, Jason Kauffman, Jacob Kauffman; daughter Amy (Cody) Napoleon; 8 grandchildren; mother Loretta F. Guffey; brother William Guffey III; sisters Marla (Jerry) Kerby, and Valerie Guffey; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father William L. Guffey Jr., brother Bradley Guffey, son Zachary Guffey.
Private services for the family have been entrusted to Celebrate Life Iowa.
