Obituary
Tammy Sue Hansen-Steege, 58, of Waterloo, went to Heaven on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo. A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at the Fairgrounds in Nashua, Iowa from 2:00-6:00 p.m. Memorial services will be held on May 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Garden of Memories Mausoleum, 3669 Logan Ave., Highway 63 North, Waterloo, Iowa.
Tammy was born in Waterloo, Iowa on September, 19, 1957 to John F. Hansen Jr. and Kathleen I. Fink. She was the first born of 7 children. Tammy grew up in Fredricksburg, Iowa and attend school in Fredricksburg. She maaried Vern Steege on November 30, 1974 in Fredricksburg. From this union there were 2 daughters, Heather Steege and Jennifer Langreck. Tammy was an avid horse person and rasided and showed her registered Morgan horse. She was a member of the American Morgan Horse Association since 1980. Tammy divorced Vern and moved to Alpha, Iowa where she continued with her horses. When her health began to fail she gave her horses to her daughter Heather. Tammy moved to Charles City, then Tripoli so she could be closer to her family and doctors.
Tammy is survived by her daughters Heather and Jennifer; 5 grandchildren; mother Kathleen Hansen; sisters Karen (Lynn) Springmier, Sherry (Jack) Melver, Kim (Al) Steinlage, Michelle (Syd) Gebel; brother John Hansen lll.
She was preceded in death by her father, and her sister Diana.
