Charlie had an amazing life. All the places he went and wonderful stories about where he'd been. He touched so many people with wit, stories & knowledge. Being my best friend over the past 17 yrs was an adventure.
Chuck was quite a guy and will definitely be missed at the Skyhawks airfield. His passion and skill for flying RC sailplanes were remarkable -- simply amazing. I always enjoyed visiting with him as well as watching him fly high, really high! He had a great sense of humor too! Gary Owen, fellow RC pilot & club member
You will be missed by all that crossed your path & those who joined you on the journey. Your physical path is over but now in the ❤️ heart's and memories of all.

As a member of the Skyhawks who has enjoyed watching Chuck's sailplanes soaring high in the sky, and enjoyed many chats with him about many subject I will miss him a lot.
I like to think that his spirit is now free to soar too.

Chuck and his frequent flying buddy Chuck Ficken talking about their next flight.
Chuck was a frequent visitor to our radio controlled aircraft field the last few years. He could always be counted on to provide lively conversation, or help out when needed. We'll miss his friendly face at the field, and will think of him whenever we see a glider flying high overhead. Todd Davis, President Cedar Rapids Skyhawks
Chuck is happy after putting in another long flight on his glider.
