Obituary
Mark Brooks, 67, of Carlisle, Iowa passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019 at MercyOne in Des Moines, Iowa. Memorial service and burial are pending.
Mark was born on August 8, 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas to Vonnie and Shirley (Penrod) Brooks. He grew up all over the country being a child of a military family but attended high school at Moreno Valley High School in California. He graduated with the class of 1970. He met Teresa Aldrich in California and the couple was married on April 22, 1971. Mark then joined the Air Force and the couple lived in various states together while raising their family together. Mark served in the Vietnam Conflict with the Air Force. After 23 years of service to his country Mark retired from the Air Force. He attended Iowa State University and obtained a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from ISU. Mark worked as a history teacher before working for Marc Harding Law Firm as a paralegal. He loved to spend time with his family, riding his Triumph motorcyle, guns, talking politics, and the Democratic Party.
Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife Teresa Brooks; children Matthew (Kimberly) Brooks and Melinda Roberts; grandchildren Sarah (Kenzie) Brooks, Benjamin Brooks, Marina Brooks, Lararae Roberts, Kerra Roberts, and Maddie Roberts; great-grandchildren Jensen and Lettie McDonald; brother Hal (Evelyn) Brooks; sister Lorna Jean (Mike) Weiskamp; many cousins; many nieces; and many nephews.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, and son-in-law Jason Roberts.
