Now that i know you and Rick are safely together in the arms of Jesus, I have this giant hole in my life that I must deal with. Today it is filled with tear-soaked memories of the 20-something years of extremely painful health problems that you endured. I promise that beginning to tomorrow those tears will begin to be replaced with smiles as I recall the joy, laughter, and sometimes impish actions you brought to our family. I am so grateful that God gave you to me to love and raise. How I will miss you, my adorable baby who grew into the bravest and strongest woman I have ever known. I cherish every moment we spent together. Have you told your Dad "I told you that you could never get rid of me, even if you die" as you always joked with him? I hope so, "sweet pea". Love you forever!
Kathy, you always said if we didn't have bad luck we'd have no luck at all. You were wrong. I am very lucky to have met you and have you for a friend. I will miss your humor, attitude and laughter. Love you.
I love you mom! Life has dealt all of us some hands that are tough to handle but you always put on that fake happy face to try and make things better no matter how bad they were. Thank you for everything and I will see you again. Say hello to grandpa for me and prepare him for the butt chewing granny's gonna give him when it's her time! I LOVE YOU!!!
to family of Kathy West. You have my sympathy, as well as Gary’s. I met Kathy in 1984 when I bought the house on 40th st. next door to her parents. Kathy faces every challenge with strength spunk and good humor. I love this picture because it captures her practical common sense and her genuine smile. She was real and called it like she saw it. We talked over the fence when her Dad died. I said, “Cancer is terrible.” She said, Yes. It really sucks. This just plain hurts.” She half chuckled through tears but we both knew what she meant. Gary and I will remember Kathy for the times she made us laugh out loud with her candor. Her legacy will live forever in the family she loved beyond measure.
