Obituary
Dale L. Burge 89 years of Boone Iowa passed away at his home surrounded by his family on May 15, 2020.
He was born June 6, 1930 in Superior Nebraska to Joe and Lillie (Klinker) Burge. After graduating from Superior High in 1947, he attended radio school in Omaha Nebraska, then moved to Boone. He was employed by KWBG helping put the radio station on the air, then served in the U.S. Navy, returning to Boone in 1952.
Dale married June Marie Fredregill in Des Moines in 1953. Dale graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1958. He then moved with family to Seattle Washington and was employed by Boeing. In 1961 he moved his family to Las Vegas Nevada, working on Secret Government projects. He received his Masters Degree in Aerospace Management from USC while living and working in Las Vegas. The family returned to Boone in the fall of 1974, purchasing a farm in rural Boone. He retired in 1996 from the National Animal Disease Center in Ames Iowa.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, and an infant daughter.
Dale is survived by his wife, June, daughters, Connie and Jeannie (Eric) Anderson, sons Mike (Julie), Brian (Catherine). 11 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
His family would like to thank the Mary Greeley Hospice team for their services.
Dale has been cremated per his wishes. A private family service will be held at a later date.
