Obituary

Well, hi there! My name is Ellie Bullington (Ellen Lorraine Miller Bullington). I was born in Onawa, Iowa on August 25th, 1948 to William Harry Miller and Bonnie Mae Burgess. I grew up with my brother, Dennis. We had a sister, Karen, who passed away at two months old.

I grew up in Sioux City, Iowa - attending Lowell Elementary school and graduated from Leeds High School in 1966. During high school I enjoyed choir, girls' glee club, and drill team. I was president of The Red Cross Team. I ran track, played girls 6 on 6 basketball, and volleyball.

I was very blessed in my life to have three husbands! I had three families that brought me great joy! I had my three girls: Lori, Karen, and Jennifer with my first husband, Jerry. I had many adventures with my second husband Dan, and his son Tim. Dan cared for, loved, and adopted my three girls as his own! In 1984, I married Jim - I fell in love with him over the phone; he had me from hello! This is when I came to love my third family as Jim had four children; Kevin, Kirby, Jerry, and Sherry. Jim taught me how to live and love life. He introduced me to Minnesota fishing on our honeymoon. We had a fabulous life together.

We owned Little Winnie Resort in Minnesota for seven years; so many memories that I hold dear in my heart. The third time's a charm; but I lost him in 2007. As you read this, you know that we have finally been reunited.

In December 2020, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, followed by colon cancer, which had metastasized to other organs.

I'd like to share a quote from Erma Bombeck - "When I stand before God at the end of my life, I would hope that I would have not a single bit of talent left and could say, 'I used everything you gave me.'"

I'm reunited with those who have passed before me: My sister Karen, my grandson Dylan, my parents Bill and Bonnie Miller, my daughter Karen, and my husband Jim.

I will be watching out for those I leave behind - all of my family and friends.
