Obituary
Benjamin Ray Clement, born May 17, 1977 passed away peacefully in his home in Ames, Iowa on March 2, 2022 from complications of heart disease and diabetes.
Ben was raised in Des Moines and attended SE Polk and Dowling High School, where many lifelong friendships began, especially with his teammates.
He grew up playing baseball, basketball and football then began to show an interest in cutting hair at a young age.
Ben became a well-known barber in Des Moines and eventually ended up in Ames where he was mostly known as a local barber for athletes and coaches of Iowa State University. Even though he was raised as a Hawkeye, Ben took pride in his clients at ISU and even attended local games. He enjoyed talking to his clients about sports and life. His young clients were his #1 fans, as Ben was especially great with kids.
Ben was preceded in death by his mom, Lavina "Sue" Clement. He is survived by his dad Bruce Clement, brother Nate (Courtney), sisters Shannon and Amanda, his 3 daughters, Jaylen Rae, Zamya Raelynn, Kylah Rae, and many, many friends who loved him as family.
Ben will be remembered for his talents, his laugh and his love for The Raiders.
Family and friends are planning a Celebration of Life at a later date.
