Obituary
Sondra Fleagle 83, of Des Moines, IA passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at MercyOne Hospice in Johnston, Iowa. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 26, 2022, at 5:00 p.m. at Life Point Church Assembly of God in Osceola, Iowa. A private family burial will take place at a later date in Van Wert, Iowa.
Sondra was born December 18, 1938, in Osceola, Iowa to Cassel and Genevieve (Ramsey) Roberts. She grew up in Osceola and Murray area. She attended Murray Community High School and graduated with the class of 1957. Following school, Sondra moved to Des Moines to work. She met and married Buddy Fleagle and the couple resided in Des Moines. Sondra was a homemaker until her kids were raised and then began working at Polk County in Human Services. Sondra also was part owner and manager of an assisted living facility "Casual Living" in Osceola, Iowa. Sondra loved going to various churches and enjoyed many women's Bible study groups. Her hobbies included interior decorating, shopping at garage sales, and flowers.
Those left to cherish her loving memory are her son Steven Fleagle; grandchildren Lauren Fleagle, Mason Fleagle, Marshall Fleagle, Morgan Fleagle, and Mallory Mattson; 4 great-grandchildren; brothers Charlie (Liz) Harger of Eldridge, Iowa and Rod (Marilyn) Harger of Osceola, Iowa; half-sister Sara Roustio of Murray, Iowa; sister-in-law Marge Roberts of Wyoming; uncle Ron LaFollette; many nieces; many nephews; many cousins; and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her dad Cassel Roberts; mother Genevieve Harger; step-dad Ernie Harger; son Mark Fleagle; former husband Bubby Robert Fleagle; and brother Larry Roberts.
The family would like to thank MercyOne Hospice House staff and nurses for all the love and care they provided to Sondra.
