They were married on May 5, 2007 in Walnut Woods State Park. Family meant a great deal to Floyd. He loved spending time with family. In his younger years, he loved spending time and helping out with his nieces and nephews and later in life with his grandchildren. He loved teasing and joking around with everyone he met.

He grew up attending a Presbyterian church and later with Georgie he attended Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines. He enjoyed spending quality time with those he loved and was always there to help out a friend or neighbor in need.

Floyd will be remembered by many, including his wife Georgie; stepdaughters Carey (John) Stover and Chrissy Tassin; grandchildren Brianna, Nick, Natalie, Nathan, Nevada and Jack and great-grandchildren Miliana, Malik and Maliya and nieces Michelle, Daina and Mikki and nephews Chris, Dan and Rick.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Eva; sisters Kathy and Mary, and his brother Thomas.
