Gerald Schropp, 77, of rural New London, IA, died Thursday, March 7, 2024, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City.

Gerald (Jerry) Dean Schropp was born December 16, 1946, on a farm outside of Oxford, IA. His parents were Donald and Betty(Hummer) Schropp. He married Jeanie Swanson (Seberg) in November of 1980 (They later divorced). They had two daughters together-April and Corina. Mr. Schropp lived most of his life in New London, Iowa where he loved being on his farm, with his animals, and his beloved dog and companion, Queenie. Jerry was a man of many skills, and worked in several industries, including farming, logging, truck driving, concrete construction, and could fix about anything he got his hands on. He enjoyed giving people a hard time, all in good fun, cracking jokes, and being with his two daughters, and his grandchildren. He liked to collect antiques, train horses, and be outdoors! His work, and his family were the most important thing to him.

Jerry is survived by his two daughters: April Cornell (Danny), Corina Shipp (Dustan Fenton), grandsons: Cayson Shipp and Danny Cornell Jr., granddaughters: Vivian Cornell and Cruz Shipp, one sister Bonnie Koenighain, nephews: Mike(Stacey) Koenighain and Chad (Stacy) Koenighain, many great nephews and great nieces, one adopted son: Alexander Schropp and Australian Shepherd dog: Queenie

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents: Donald and Betty Schropp, his brother in law-Vern Koenighain, and his brother and sister in law: Ralph and Juanita Kuepker

Jerry wished to be cremated, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
