Obituary
Monty Brobst, 58, of Woodward, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at MercyOne in Des Moines, surrounded by his loving family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. A private family burial will be held at a later date.
He was born on May 16, 1966, in Des Moines, Iowa to Roy and Mary (Carter) Brobst. He grew up in Woodward where he attended Woodward Granger High School and graduated with the class of 1984. Following school, Monty joined the Army. After he served his country, he returned to Woodward where he worked for IBP which later became Tyson. He retired from Tyson when his health no longer allowed him to work.
Monty loved spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, and on occasion going to a casino.
Those left to cherish his loving memory are his son Dustin (Megan) Brobst; grandchildren Axel, Taylinn, Kholee, Madisyn, Tyler, and Jaime; siblings Michelle Macias, Cris Brobst, Troy (Kelly) Brobst, and Martin Brobst,; nieces Brandee, Alee, Aubrey, Angel, and Citori; nephew Hunter Brobst; many great nieces and nephews; and many cousins, and close friends.
Monty was preceded in death by his parents.
