Obituary
Lisa Jean Cascio, 47, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2018 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa surrounded by her loving family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, July 22 at 2:30pm at McLarens Funeral Chapel 801 19th St., West Des Moines, Iowa.
Lisa was born in Omaha, Nebraska on September 1, 1970 to Joseph Cascio Jr. and Sharon (Smith) Hlas. As a young child her family moved to Colorado, Wisconsin, and when she was in 2nd grade moved to Toledo, Iowa. Lisa graduated from South Tama High School in 1988. She went on to the University of Northern Iowa where she earned her bachelors degree. Following college her career lead her to Marshalltown, Des Moines, and then to Kansas City where she worked for Century Link until she became sick. Lisa loved to spend time with her family, friends, her 2 cats Bello and Enzo, travel, and live concerts. She always kept a deep faith.
Those left to cherish her loving memory are her parents Joseph (Sherry) Cascio of Omaha, NE, and Sharon (Joseph) Hlas of Toledo, IA; siblings Joseph (Julie) Cascio III, Kimberly Cascio, Katherine Cascio, Anthony Cascio, and William (Allison) Cruz; step-sisters Rebecca (Andy) Squiers and Sarah (Mike) Kacer; nephews Dax Garrens and Caden Cruz; nieces Olivia Cascio, Andrea Squiers, and Laura Squiers; many aunts, uncles, and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be given in her memory to the Bonner Animal Rescue, PO Box 332 Bonner Springs, KS 66012
