Obituary
Leonard Ross, 55, of Des Moines, Iowa passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.
Lenny loved racing of any kind, especially NASCAR as an avid Jeff Gordon Fan. He was a life-long Kansas City Chiefs fan. During his free time Leonard loved to play drums, attend hard rock concerts and enjoyed local live music. Two of his favorite groups included KISS and Guns & Roses.
He loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was very proud of each of them. Leonard liked to hang out with "The Coffee Club", a group of his friends he shared stories and laughter with at the Eagles club. Leonard was a member of the All-Saints Church, East Gate Masonic Lodge #630, and the Eagles Club of South Des Moines.
Lenny was a strong believer in family and spending time making memories with them. Gabriel, his 1st grandson, was his shining star. Poor kid, and his dad, Joey, looks just like him.
Those left to cherish his loving memory are his Son Joseph Bemisdarfer (Jena) of Des Moines, Daughter Lindsey Ross of Des Moines, Daughter Mackenzie Ross of Des Moines, Brother Steven Ross (Marcie) of Altoona, Brother Roger Ross (Dawn) of Des Moines, and Step-Sister Sue Lynn Mick-Pohl of Des Moines. Grandchildren Gabriel Bemisdarfer, Zalina Bemisdarfer and Jace Bemisdarfer. There are also many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Preceded in death by his Parents David and Mary Ross, Uncle Richard Ross, Uncle Jerry Graeve, Uncle Ivo Graeve, Aunt Darlene Kellogg, Cousin Danny Kellogg, and Cousin Brett Graeve.
