I was so shocked to learn of Wayne's passing. The picture posted here is the way I remember Wayne; always a smile and positive things to say. I met Wayne 40+ years ago when he was dating my cousin, Margie. My sympathy to his family. He was one of the good ones -
It has been forever since I last saw Wayne, he worked with my dad Ed McCreery at Gra-Iron years ago. He would come to the house and crack us up. I will always remember him singing "El Paso" and playing practical jokes on my dad and his other friends. I always had a little crush on him when I was a teen. I am so sorry to see this. Prayers for his family.
We were honored to have known Wayne when we lived in Grinnell. He was without a doubt one of the nicest people we met during our time there. I worked at GameTime Sports Bar, and one of the best things about working a day shift was knowing I would probably get to hang out with Wayne. He and my husband had many great conversations about fishing, hunting, Marshalltown (we grew up there) and just life in general. And he could sing like nobody else!! He loved to sing Roy Orbison songs and would sometimes come for karaoke where he would wow everyone with his incredible vocal talents. We will miss him very much.
I am so saddened to hear this. Wayne always greeted me with a big smile. He was such a great man. He sang at Kenny and my wedding and he will be so missed by so many. Sending my love to his family who I still hold closely in my heart. Praying for everyone to find peace during a difficult time.
Uncle Wayne I will miss you so much. I am very lucky to have had you as my uncle. Love you!
Loved sitting having a beer with him at Gilman Tap.. He always had a great attitude- love his laughter and spirit of life..
