Obituary
Lolita Solanib Green, 75, of Corydon, Iowa, passed peacefully surrounded by immediate family on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at EveryStep Kavanagh House in Des Moines, Iowa.
Lolita was born in Santo Nino, Iloilo, Philippines, and had 6 siblings. As a child, she dreamed of getting on a plane and coming to America. As a young adult she made that dream and many more come true. She lived in Ohio and California before meeting her husband, Garry Jefferson Green of Promise City. Garry passed on January 17, 2006.
Some of Lolita's favorite hobbies were gardening, quilting, cooking, baking and singing in the choir. For many years she provided neighbors fresh garden produce and pies and was known for her seamstress skills. After Garry passed, she was able to care for others at Murphy's Place, an assisted living facility. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church while living in Corydon. Her faith was always a foundation for her strength.
Lolita is survived by her daughter Sherry Mayberry, son-in-law, Kyle Mayberry and their children Max and Reagan Mayberry and her daughter Sheena Green and grandson Royler Lara.
There will be a visitation held at 9 am followed by a worship service at 10 am at The United Methodist Church in Corydon on Saturday, April 9, 2022.
The family of Lolita Green wishes to thank EveryStep Kavanagh House for making her last few days as comfortable and peaceful as possible.
