Obituary
Greg Carpenter, 46, of Moravia, Iowa passed away Friday, December 15,2023 at U of I hospital in Iowa City. Celebration of Life will be held at River Rock Retreat (1792 280th St.) in Webster City, IA 1p-5p.
Gregory Neil Carpenter, son of Billie Ganzeveld and Keith Carpenter, on May 19, 1977, in Cloquet, Minnesota. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1996. Following graduation, he went on to receive his BA in forestry from ISU. Greg started working for the Army Corp of Engineers. During his employment with the Corp, he traveled to many different places including IA, SD, IN, NM, GA, and FL.
Greg interested included spending time with his family, hunting, fishing, looking at trees, always on the go, relaxing on the water, singing. He enjoyed being in nature, taking pictures of many trees or hiking a good trail.
His family and friends will miss the spontaneous spunk he had, telling everyone what the heck he thought at any given moment.
Left to cherish Greg's memory is his son Mason Carpenter of Fort Meyers, FL, Mother Billie Ganzeveld of Central City, IA, Father Keith Carpenter of Florence, SC, Stepmother Michelle (Lewis) Jacobson, brother, Jamie Carpenter of Webster City, sisters of Chrystal Carpenter, Mercede (Brandon) Propes both of Webster City, nieces Alyssa and Liberty Gamble, Lydia and Anna Propes all of Webster City, grandparents William Schense and Albert Carpenter.
